Thinking About Partnering With Us?

Why You Matter

Historically, people perceived as having “learning disabilities” have been excluded from society, often judged by narrow ideas of value and productivity. Though progress has been made, many still face significant barriers- especially after leaving school.

As a partner, you hold the potential to not only provide our members with access to high quality experiences in the community, resources and venues, but to develop an authentic inclusive practice for yourself or your organisation, that creates a space where ‘learning-disabled’ young people genuinely belong.

What to Expect in a partnership with Pelican

At The Pelican Project, we believe that collaborative preparation is key to successful partnerships. Our team will work with you through a well-supported process. Key practicalities may include:

  • Available funding and resources (from you and from us)

  • The flexibility and feasibility of the proposed activity

  • What will be required in terms of preparation and throughout the partnership

  • Identifying access needs, including risk assessment

  • Timeline feasibility

  • Experience level (we welcome new and seasoned partners alike)

  • Ownership of creative or media outputs

  • Alignment with our policies (link to policies)

We’ll guide you through these considerations once we have received your Expression of Interest form. You will also have an opportunity to reflect and celebrate the project through our post-project evaluation tool.

We love the diversity of our partnerships and we are excited to work with collaborators who are open to learning, adapting, and recognising that our members are not just participants, they are leaders and can be agents of change.
